Get to know Acapulco

Acapulco is a symbol of tourism in Mexico and was the first sun and beach destination to gain worldwide fame. In the 1950s, it was a retreat for Hollywood’s jet-set and British royalty, drawn by its waters and cliffs in Guerrero.

Acapulco is divided into three tourist areas: Traditional, Golden, and Diamond. The Traditional area, the oldest, includes the famous Caleta beach and La Cabaña palapa, where the coco loco was invented. Glass-bottom boat tours are offered here to see the submerged Virgin near Roqueta Island.

The Golden area has most of the "All-Inclusive" hotels and attractions like the El Rollo water park and the Baby'O nightclub. This area, stretching from the Miguel Alemán coast to Playa Hornos, is known for its vibrant nightlife and has been frequented by celebrities like Bono, Sylvester Stallone, and Luis Miguel.

The cliff diving at La Quebrada, where divers leap from 40 meters, is a must-see experience dating back to 1934.

Punta Diamante, added in the 90s, is the most exclusive area, with luxury hotels, the world’s longest zip line over the sea, Dolores Olmedo’s house with Diego Rivera murals, a shopping center with a navigable canal, and international restaurants.

Acapulco is ideal for a weekend with family and friends, offering activities like paddle boarding, surfing, and kite surfing.
