Discovering the magical towns of Mexico: A journey of tradition and beauty.

Welcome to the fascinating journey of "Discovering the Pueblos Mágicos of Mexico," a series that will immerse us in the cultural richness, enchanting history, and natural beauty that characterize these unique destinations. Mexico, with its geographic and cultural diversity, hosts a selection of towns distinguished with the title of "Pueblo Mágico" or "Magic Town" for their charm, authenticity, and contribution to Mexican heritage.

What makes a town "magic"?

Pueblos Mágicos are more than tourist destinations; they are treasures that hold centuries-old traditions, captivating architecture, and a special connection to Mexican identity.

The designation of a "Pueblo Mágico" in Mexico follows a process starting with a proposal from local authorities, presenting the cultural, historical, and touristic features to the Secretariat of Tourism (SECTUR). SECTUR evaluates criteria such as cultural authenticity, tourism infrastructure, and commitment to sustainable development. If the proposal is accepted and the town meets the established criteria, a "Declaration of Pueblo Mágico" is issued. This designation involves local commitments to preserve heritage and develop necessary infrastructure. The designation is not permanent and undergoes periodic reviews to ensure continuous compliance.

Each town tells a unique story, and through this series, we will delve into the narratives that resonate in the heart of Mexico.
