Mérida, the capital city, will make you fall in love with its colorful mansions and colonial buildings. See the impressive Paseo Montejo, visit the cathedral and the Museo Regional de Antropología.

Recharge your batteries by enjoying delicious panuchos (traditional patty), cochinita pibil (seasoned pork stew) tacos and a refreshing chaya water. Tour its old henequen haciendas and admire its beautiful buildings.

Spend a day at one of its beaches such as Playa Progreso, one of the closest to the city of Mérida, in Telchac you will find the Museo del Mar (Museum of the Sea), Sisal will impress you with its white sand and spectacular views.

Throughout the Peninsula there is an underground world, which was considered sacred to the Mayans: the cenotes. These natural pools are wonderful and the experience of swimming in their refreshing waters is incomparable. Do not forget to visit one of the many that are in the area.

In its archaeological sites you will learn about the Mayan world, such is the case of Chichén Itzá, considered one of the New Wonders of the World. You can also visit Uxmal, Mayapán and Ek Balam, to name a few.

Make a stop at its Pueblos Mágicos such as Valladolid and Izamal, which will make you fall in love with their culture, architecture and traditions.
