Candy Museum of Calle Real

After learning a bit about the history of Morelia, how about we take a stroll through the Museum of Sweet Calle Real? This place first opened its doors as a candy shop in 1840, where its founder, Mr. Marcial Martínez, crafted the "ate" candy, one of the typical sweets of Michoacán, by hand.

Currently, the museum is a must-visit for city visitors, as it preserves the history and traditions of Morelia. During your tour, you'll learn about the customs of the inhabitants of pre-Hispanic Mexico and the main ingredients that the Spaniards imported to the country during the conquest, which were integrated into Michoacán's gastronomy.

The museum features a wide variety of typical regional sweets, and you can learn about their production process through exhibitions and live demonstrations. At the end of the tour, you can even enter a typical Morelian kitchen and make your own guava "ate."

And if you want to take a sweet memory of Morelia home with you, don't forget to stop by the museum's store, where you can purchase a wide variety of typical Michoacán sweets and other local products such as handicrafts, jams, and liqueurs.

A visit to the Museum of Sweet Calle Real is a delicious and unforgettable experience!
