Known as “La Ciudad de grandes esfuerzos” (The City of Great Efforts), Torreón, Coahuila, is a young and dynamic town that surrounds you with adverse historic environmental conditions that have been combined with modernity.

 

Due to its geographical location, Torreón is part of the Comarca Lagunera. It is located in the northwest of Mexico, and in the semi-desert of Mexico, it limits to the north and east with the municipality of Matamoros; and to the south and west with the state of Durango.

 

There is a lot to visit in Torreón, starting with the Centro Historico (Historical Centre) that preserves some buildings and constructions, from the time of the Mexican Revolution, some of them are marked by these revolutionary battles.

 

On Avenida Juárez, and very close to Calzada Colón, is the Alameda de Zaragoza, which highlights a beautiful mosaic fountain surrounded by benches and columns, in which we see the convergence of leading characters of that endless novel that it weaves.
